Peace & Governance

Peace-building

Kenya faces sporadic conflicts and peace instability, with occasional outbreaks of violence. Building community resilience and supporting peace actors are critical to creating a conducive environment for equal opportunity and shared prosperity.

Public Engagements

This is essential, especially among at-risk youth. Approximately 22% of Kenyan youth are unemployed, highlighting the importance of providing access to education and economic opportunities to promote their productivity and integration into society.

Civic Education

Education on rights and responsibilities is crucial in a nation where informed governance is vital. Currently, efforts are underway to promote access to information campaigns.

Conflict Resolution

Despite progress, community conflicts still occur in Kenya, underscoring the continued need for conflict resolution programs that contribute to reducing conflicts and promoting harmony.

What We Do

  • We spearhead prevention of violent extremism (PVE) and peace-building through community engagement and civic education.
  • We advocate for participation of youth, women and minority groups in governance and democratic processes; Build their resilience against political and VE manipulation; and promote the advancement and protection of their rights,

How we do it

We train at-risk groups on creation of alternative livelihoods for themselves to prevent extremist and political groups from taking advantage of their poverty, inequality, discrimination and lack of opportunities. We conduct mentorship and trauma healing sessions to foster dialogue and facilitate counselling & reintegration of affected groups. We organize talent-identification and sporting activities to build social cohesion.
